A bright future: Nissan LEAF is the first glow-in-the-dark car to drive the glowing highway in the Netherlands
Nissan has blazed a trail by driving its unique glow-in-the-dark zero-emission LEAF along the world's first glow-in-the-dark motorway in Oss, the Netherlands.
Nissan recently became the first modern passenger car manufacturer to apply glow-in-the-dark car paint to a car to showcase how many customers of the world's best-selling electric vehicle are powering their car from solar energy generated at home.
Now we've gone one step further by driving the all-electric Nissan LEAF on the Smart Highway in the Netherlands – the first time a phosphorescent car has been driven on the famous stretch of road. The location of the world's only luminescent highway was fitting, as Nissan has announced an increase in electric vehicle sales of 313 percent in the Netherlands last year.
The innovative Smart Highway project was conceived by designer Daan Roosegaarde. His idea: Help guide drivers in the dark while saving energy that might otherwise be used in street lighting.
Carson Nissan has been awarded the 2015 DealerRater Dealer of the Year award, which recognizes auto dealerships across the U.S. and Canada that deliver outstanding customer service, based on consumer reviews written on DealerRater.com.
“Consumers have identified the best dealers to do business with, and Carson Nissan has emerged as the leader among Nissan dealers across the United States,” said DealerRater CEO Gary Tucker. “The quality and number of reviews for Carson Nissan speak volumes of the top-notch experiences provided to customers.”
The Dealer of the Year awards are based on reviews by new- and used-car shoppers and those who took their vehicles into dealerships for service. Reviewers evaluated Carson Nissan on its customer service, quality of work, friendliness, pricing and overall experience.
Carson Nissan has demonstrated consistently high PowerScore™ ratings for customer satisfaction, placing it in the top of its class. The PowerScore is determined using a Bayesian algorithm that factors the dealership’s average DealerRater consumer rating and the total number of reviews written about the dealership during the 2014 calendar year. Carson Nissan has been the only Nissan Dealer to be awarded the Dealer of the Year Award for the State of California for four straight years.

Time to Go Green
Our trusted Nissan dealer serving Los Angeles knows our drivers want to reduce their carbon footprint, and we offer a variety of hybrid and electric vehicles so you can go green. Sometimes you'll drive the PCH and take in the beautiful scenery; the quiet and smooth ride makes it a joy to go cruising. But let's face it, this is LA: you need a car that's built to sit in traffic. A Nissan hybrid or electric vehicle is the perfect solution: lower fuel costs will make that stop-and-go a little more bearable.
Whether you drive the 101, 5, 10, 405, or other route to work, it can be frustrating to sit in traffic. But that's a part of driving in Los Angeles: everyone is headed somewhere, and most people are in a hurry. Carpooling can be the golden ticket; Los Angeles' "high-occupancy vehicle" lanes almost always require only two people to be in the car. If you commute by yourself, the golden ticket is white or green. Did you know certain vehicles gain access to the carpool lanes even if they only have one occupant?
The potential of the electric vehicles is infinite. Do not pollute the air. Provide a quiet and comfortable ride. And also, provide an important power supply device should one ever be needed.
Enter the Nissan Ultimate Smart BBQ Vehicle, a whimsical “concept vehicle” created for the Green Funding Lab project in Japan. Right now, interest in BBQ in Japan is quickly expanding. However, the need to start a fire and clean up afterwards detracts from the experience. Having an electric car provide the source of the power for a BBQ while emitting zero emissions, was the source of inspiration for the Ultimate Smart BBQ Vehicle.
But that’s not all the Ultimate Smart BBQ Vehicle does. Check out the video above to see the Refreshing Mist Shower, Mosquito Barrier System, and Flying Selfie Camera in action.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) today awarded the 2015 Nissan Sentra a “Top Safety Pick” vehicle safety rating. The Institute’s “Top Safety Pick” award recognizes passenger vehicles that excel in protecting passengers in moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests and also achieve a “Good” or “Acceptable” rating in the small overlap frontal test. The 2015 Sentra scored “Good” in all five of the “Top Safety Pick” categories.
“Nissan is committed to safety and innovation, and Nissan is proud to achieve the IIHS Top Safety Pick rating for the 2015 Sentra,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations U.S., Nissan North America. “As a compact sedan, Sentra is a critically important vehicle in Nissan’s lineup and with its standard safety features we're bringing a high level of safety and security to a growing consumer segment.”
2015 model noted for its roominess and ease of access, among other features
For a second straight year, the Nissan Pathfinder is one of the “Best Family Cars” according to Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com. KBB.com editors recently selected the 2015 Pathfinder to the list due to its roominess, ease of access, refinement and handling, among other features.
Kelley Blue Book’s annual Best Family Cars list was created to outline how well America’s top family vehicles withstand their daily routines. This year, KBB.com editors rigorously tested 23 of the “latest and greatest vehicles” to determine the 15 Best Family Cars. The 2015 Pathfinder was one of only two midsize SUVs to make the list.
“Completely redesigned just two years ago, 2015 Pathfinder retains its core values of fun, utility and fresh style while also adding a number of exciting enhancements beneficial for the whole family,” said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations. “With plenty of cargo space and interior room, and a smooth ride with solid handling, the 2015 Pathfinder is a classic ‘family-first’ vehicle, and we’re elated to once again be included among Kelley Blue Book’s Best Family Cars.”
