The sketch Nissan released yesterday also shows the company’s new signature grille on the Versa. The company will unveil the car at the Guangzhou auto show in December.
Analysts expect the new model to share a platform with the Micra subcompact. Nissan also will use the platform to carry a new small car for Daimler AG’s Smart brand.
Nissan is expected to offer only the sedan version of the new Versa in North America. Hatchback variants are likely for other markets. Nissan has sold 76,700 Versas in the U.S. in the January-September period, up 20% from the same period last year.
