Leader in Mid-Size Truck Segment Hauls in Fifth Major Award in 2012

Autobytel and AutoPacific announced the winners for the 16th annual Vehicle Satisfaction Award, with Nissan Frontier taking top honors in the compact pickup category. This award measures how satisfied new car and light truck buyers are with their recently purchased vehicle and is based on more than 75,000 survey respondents who objectively rate 48 key vehicle attributes on their importance when considering to purchase, as well as satisfaction after purchase.

“The 2012 Frontier has earned numerous accolades for its dependability and value since its launch, and today we celebrate the distinguished honor of providing our valued owners with the highest level of overall satisfaction,” said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America. “This award underscores the strong commitment the company has made in delivering quality and reliability while still offering new levels of innovation, fuel-efficiency, dynamic performance and premium style to all our customers.”

Combining premium hardware, extraordinary power and off-road athleticism, Frontier continues to be a leader in the mid-size truck segment. The Nissan Frontier emulates many of the Nissan Titan’s full-size features, including its bold, expressive and adventurous exterior styling. Frontier utilizes signature Nissan truck themes, including an angled strut grille, large bumpers, short front and rear overhangs and large, stamped steel, geometric fender flares. The 2012 Frontier model lineup consists of Frontier S, Frontier SV, Frontier PRO-4X (4x4 models only) and Frontier SL (Crew Cab only). It is offered in both King Cab and Crew Cab body styles, in 4x2 and 4x4 driveline configurations, offering exceptional levels of family or workplace performance to fit nearly any need or budget.

A new federal study shows underinflated tires triple drivers risk of an accident, so it's timely that NISSAN recently introduced the "Easy Fill Tire Alert" system on its 2013 Altima. It's a way to help motorists maintain optimum tire pressure and it comes standard in all 2013 Nissan models.

"I think a lot of people probably don't think about tire pressure. I didn't, and so this is a good system to have," said Nissan customer Evan Galin.

When the tire-pressure warning system alerts a driver to a low tire, a display shows the pressure and the relevant tire or tires. Then the driver should drop into a nearby gas station and grab the air hose. As the driver fills the tire, the car's four-way flashers come on to confirm that air is going in. When the tire is full, the horn chirps to let the driver know the process is complete.

"I don't feel like I know what I'm doing unless I have something telling me that it's right, so this is good," said Galin.

4.4 Million Altimas Later, Another First: All-New, 2013 Nissan Altima Begins Production in Tennessee

First Generation (1993-1997)
The name "Altima" originally referred to a trim line of the Nissan Laurel mid-size car sold in Central America and the Caribbean before 1992. In 1993, Nissan discontinued the Stanza line, replacing it with the U.S.-made Altima. The very first Altima rolled off the assembly line in Smyrna, Tenn., in June 1992, as a 1993 model. All Altimas were built in Smyrna until June 2004, when Nissan's Canton, Miss., plant began producing additional Altimas to meet high demand.

  • Nissan to build limited run of genre-busting 545bhp, 160mph car
  • Performance of unique supercar crossover in Dubai filming sparks demand for thrilling concept to be made available to select customers
  • New Juke-Rs will be even more powerful than original concept car
  • Cinematic online movie starring Juke-R launched to coincide with announcement
Nissan has announced that its innovative Juke-R crossover will be made available to buy in a very limited run on build-to-order basis.

The 3.8-liter, 160 mph Juke-R made its global debut in Dubai in January this year, attracting enormous attention and, as a result, Nissan has now received firm orders for three cars to be built. Two have come from a high-profile and well-respected member of Dubai society.

Nissan will build more Juke-Rs upon request and will be taking orders in the coming four weeks, before production starts in earnest.

While the original Juke-R was based on the MY10 GT-R running gear, the run of new cars will benefit from featuring the drivetrain and chassis of the MY12 GT-R and, with the build of the first cars underway, the first three cars will be delivered to their new owners in late summer.

Gareth Dunsmore, Marketing Product Manager for the Juke, said: "The Juke-R was originally intended as a one-off concept to marry two of Nissan's most innovative models. But the reaction we had to the car in Dubai was amazing - people were making offers for the original on the street!

"With such a strong reaction, and with three genuine offers on the table, we decided we had to make the car a reality. We can't let down enthusiasts who are this keen to add to their collection of cars. The Juke-R has become something of a phenomenon and I'm enormously proud of the impact it has had. There will be more news to come on Juke later in the year."
